Hello everyone … What a strange month …

Firstly I was not expecting to be writing a newsletter this month but due to the change of meeting dates, I thought you may like to know what is happening!

And secondly, who would have thought we would be in the middle of a heat wave. Mind you it will probably be raining by the time you read this. Still, at the end of this letter I have copied some advice from the people who know about how to cope in heat waves….it may be useful for some of you! The meeting this Thursday has had a change of speaker due to the date change.

Some of you will remember Betty Page who does comical monologues, well she has agreed to stand in at short notice and give us another dose of afternoon humour. So come for a laugh or a secret smile; this Thursday 2.30 Weston Turville Rugby Club. Please do not arrive before 2pm! Thank you.

Thames Valley Alert

As thefts from garden sheds and outbuildings continue to be reported across the Vale, please take a moment to review the security of your own buildings.

The attachments (below), give some good tips and advice on increasing the security of sheds, garages and outbuilding.  The harder it is for a potential criminal to break in, the more likely they are to not try in the first place. 

  • Many security measure cost little or no money, such as:-Shed alarms – which can be purchased from DIY stores and garden centres and emit a loud noise if the padlock is tampered with.
  • Anti–tamper screws – these can used on doors

Do you know how to report a fraud?

Action FraudSix months since a new way to report fraud was introduced in the Thames Valley, residents are being reminded to remember Action Fraud.

On 3 December 2012, Action Fraud was rolled out to forces in the south east as a one-stop shop for fraud reporting. It has since gone live in every police force across the country and now deals with all fraud reports centrally.
