Rehab4Addiction – Mental Health during the Covid-19 pandemic
The Rehab4Addiction infographic provides not only facts and statistics about how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted on mental health, but has included some useful tips and guidelines that you can practice at home. These will help you look after your physical and mental wellbeing.
You will also find some valuable information about looking out for signs and symptoms that your loved ones are struggling with their mental health, and how to help them if they are.
Contained within this infographic are also some useful pointers to keep in mind about mental health. We feel that reducing the stigma is vital, and we’re here to help you understand what yourself, or your nearest and dearest who are perhaps not coping well, need during this unprecedented time.
Remember, you are not alone in your feelings. And remember that those feelings – whether it’s anxiety, sadness, survivor’s guilt, or loneliness – will in time pass. Staying at home or abiding by lockdown restrictions can be difficult for some. But in the long-run, you’re doing what you can to protect yourself and others.
Take a look at our infographic below to learn more about coronavirus and mental health – and don’t forget to share it with others who you think will benefit from this expert advice.

This topical poem by Pat Aylett (Aston Hearing Services) is a tribute to Professor Chris Whitty, Dr Jonathan Van Tam and Sir Patrick Vallance – names we would have not necessarily recognised this time last year but who have now become part of our daily conversation in 2021.
**********
Here’s a little ditty
In honour of Chris Whitty,
And his colleague Dr Jonathan Van Tam
Who keep us up to date
On the UK’s worrying state
With a graph, some data or a diagram.
(Next slide please…)
They are now familiar faces
On TV and other places
Flanking Boris as he gives the next update
On the figures nationwide
And those who’ve sadly died
While we wait with increased dread to hear our fate.
(Next slide please…)
On the science they rely
While the likes of you and I
Who haven’t got such scientific brains
Need simple ways to hear
What they try to make quite clear
With metaphors like football or like trains.
(Next slide please…)
And then there’s Patrick Vallance
Who tries to strike a balance
‘Twixt science and the struggling NHS
We must obey the rules
And not behave like fools
That’s the message he is really trying to stress.
(Last slide please…)
The tunnel’s very long
But we hope before too long
We’ll all be let out to enjoy the light
When we’ve all received our jabs
Thanks to all those in the labs
We have worked so hard to help us win the fight.
(… and there will be no more slides….)

There is nothing the matter with me
A new one from Pam Ayres
Pam Ayres is absolutely essential to British humour, reminding us all to be tickled by the small joys and ridiculousness of everyday life.
